Nsobe Game Lodge and Camp, Zambia

A Peaceful Place To Rest Your Weary Travelers Head....

On the Great North Road out of Lusaka, just a few kilometers before Ndola and the heart of the Copperbelt, lies a hidden wildlife reserve that offers a convenient and pleasant rest stop to the weary road warrior. Some nine kilometers off the main road, Nsobe Game Camp is part serene wildlife reserve, part bustling farm, following a practice increasingly in vogue in an Africa evolving to keep up with both the challenges of wildlife management and the needs of an ever increasing population. And while the farm is off limits to visitors, the Lodge and the wildlife reserve await the pleasure of their guests.

The Nsobe Game Camp lies nestled on a 1500 hectare reserve boasting accommodations to suit every purse and purpose, from DIY campgrounds to tented camps to family chalets as well as a conference hall. The DIY campsite provides bathroom facilities with hot water, while the onsite luxury safari tents boast en suite bathrooms and their own verandas overlooking one of the farm’s sizeable dams. The en-suite chalets vary in size, sleeping from two to as many as eight people. The largest chalets are self catering, but guests may also take advantage of Nsobe Game Camp’s two fully licensed restaurants and bars, enjoying a lakeside sundowner before a three course meal.

Activities at Nsobe Game Camp center around the outdoor life, where guests may enjoy everything from the swimming pool to game drives and bush walks, riding bicycles, fishing and visiting the Nsobe Reptile Park. For a leisurely afternoon, relax with a braai at one of the water’s edge picnic sites, and if all the outdoor activities have taken their toll, the tired guest may finish off the day with a movie in the TV lounge. For those with small children, visits to the Jumping Castle and the Nsobe World of Birds For Children will provide hours of amusement not only for children, but those young at heart.

While game drives, either with guides or self driven, provide the opportunity to gaze at over fifteen species of antelope, zebras, giraffe, warthog and more, walking is also encouraged. With no predators present, it is entirely safe to wander the roads and trails of Nsobe Game Camp, enjoying the calming presence of fauna and flora at your own pace. Perhaps you’ll see the famously shy and rare Sitatunga, known for hiding in water with just the nostrils showing, or the stunning Sable, with their signature backward curving horns. And if out early, chances are you will enjoy the magical view of the mist rising off the dams as the birds sing, the sun clears the horizon and giraffe wander in stately elegance across the meadows.

Whether you’re looking for an overnight pitstop on a long roadtrip, a honeymoon adventure or a family vacation, Nsobe Game Camp has something for anybody who finds themself on the Great North Road in Zambia. Wildlife galore, well stocked dams for the fisherman, stunning views, swimming, and a fire by which to rest a weary body at night while enjoying the song of the cricket by the waterside.

Stay in the private Miombo Woodland open air bedroom for a romantic getaway, or at the Mukuyu Camp for the complete wilderness experience; enjoy family time in a self catering chalet or sleep peacefully after a three course meal in a luxury safari tent. Whichever you choose, it’ll be a Zambian experience to remember.
